Recently,Mr. Lu, a Malaysian visitor to China, successfully applied for atemporary driving permit at Zhengzhou Airport. This marks thefirst such permit issued to a foreign traveler since Henan AirportPolice launched the service on August 1.

近日，马来西亚访华游客陆先生在郑州机场成功申请到临时驾照。这标志着自8月1日河南机场警方推出该服务以来，首次向外国游客发放此类驾照。

Mr.Lu, who has a deep appreciation for Chinese culture and has studiedMandarin, has visited China multiple times. This time, hedecided to embark on a new journey by exploring the country throughself-driving. Upon arrival in Zhengzhou, he visited the airportpolice service station to apply for the permit. Traffic policeofficers carefully reviewed his application materials, which includedhis passport and entry documents, a valid foreign driver’slicense with translation, a registration of accommodation issued bylocal authorities, and two recent passport-style photos. Withclear guidance from the officers, the process was completed smoothly,and Mr. Lu quickly received his temporary driving permit. Delighted,he gave a thumbs-up and said, “Thankyou, it’s very convenient andefficient!”

陆先生热爱中国文化，曾多次访华，并学习过普通话。此次，他决定通过自驾游开启一段新的中国之旅。抵达郑州后，他前往机场警方服务站申请驾照。交警仔细审核了他的申请材料，包括护照和入境文件、有效的外国驾照及翻译件、当地部门出具的住宿登记证明以及两张近期护照照片。在交警的清晰指导下，申请过程顺利完成，陆先生很快拿到了临时驾照。他高兴地竖起大拇指说：“谢谢，这太方便高效了！”

Thetemporary driving permit service was officially launched at ZhengzhouAirport in August as part of Henan’sefforts to support the 240-hour visa-free transit policy. Thenew measure allows foreign travelers to apply for and obtain atemporary driving permit within the airport area, making it easier todrive in China immediately after arrival. This initiativeprovides greater convenience for international visitors and enhancesthe travel experience in Henan and beyond.
