What does "M+" and "M-" mean beside the "D" gear?

When the "M+" and "M-" buttons are pressed beside the "D" gear, it means that the manual mode is activated. In manual mode, the driver can control the number of gears manually. However, the gear change does not require the use of a clutch like in a traditional manual transmission, and it also does not require the release of the oil pedal.
